New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim insists he has final say on transfer decisions
“The final decision should be the manager’s, not just because it’s your right, but because it’s your responsibility, because in the end the result depends on me. I have a big responsibility when I choose the players, so that’s how it should be,” Amorim said.
“I’m the manager, not the head coach, so I have to choose the players. Everyone has to work together and for that we have to improve the process of finding players, the information, the profile of the players that we want. But I have to be in a position to make decisions because I’m the one who determines the results and I know the way I want to play.”
Amorim’s first match is an away match at Ipswich Town in the Premier League this Sunday.
Amorim joins from Sporting Lisbon as part of a new club structure that includes sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox.
A source told http://ufabet999.app that while Amorim will have a say in transfer decisions, he will have less influence than his predecessor Erik ten Hag and the process will be led by Ashworth and Wilcox.
However, the Portuguese coach has told reporters that it is very important that he has the final say on transfers.
