Arne Slot believes Darwin Nunez is back to his best form after criticising the Uruguayan.

Slot slammed Nunez’s commitment after the games against Wolves and Aston Villa and called on him to do better.

He felt Nunez jumped at the challenge when he assisted Harvey Elliott’s late winner against Paris Saint-Germain to end a nine-game run. Without a goal or assist. Slot has praised the 25-year-old’s contribution

and believes the forward is back to “the old Darwin”.

“I think he’s back to the old Darwin, ทางเข้า UFABET สำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ สมัครวันนี้ รับโบนัสฟรี the player he was for seven or eight months,” Slot said.

“In some games I’ve spoken about, he’s been outstanding and in other games he’s got the fans’ love. Because he’s given everything since he’s been here. And he was like that against Paris Saint-Germain, he’s been like that throughout the last few weeks as well.

“For me, the game against Southampton is by far the most important,” Slot continued. “If I make the choice to play other players that’s because I think it’s the best way to win the game. And not because I want to rest them for the game against Paris St Germain.”

” He had a few less-than-perfect games, which involved missing chances against Villa, but sometimes that happens. And now he’s back to being the Darwin he is,”

Nunez has six goals and four assists and could be handed a start against Southampton at Anfield as he looks to rotate ahead of Tuesday’s clash with PSG.
